Congratulations to Mr. Ritz!!
TC's Head Wrestling Coach, Dave Ritz, will be inducted into the South Jersey Wrestling Hall of Fame!!A 1996 graduate of Highland Regional High School, Ritz was a two-time District 30 champ, a Region 8 titlist, a two-time state place winner, including a silver medalist as a senior.After finishing fifth in the state at heavyweight as a junior, Ritz knocked off Paulsboro’s Jermaine Ruffin for the Region 8 title. He lost the rematch to Ruffin in the state final by a 3-2 decision.Ritz finished his scholastic career with an 89-10 record and helped lead the Tartans to three state Group 4 titles.He attended Gloucester County College where he went 28-5 with a fifth-place finish on the 1999 squad, which won the Junior College National Championship.After earning a degree at Rutgers-Camden, Ritz got into coaching. He was an assistant at Moorestown (2000-04) and Timber Creek (2005-14) before earning the head coach job in 2015, a position he still holds.Ritz works in the special education program at Timber Creek and currently resides in Erial.Please join us in congratulating Coach Ritz as the wrestling community recognizes his many accomplishments and dedication to the sport! We are so proud to call him a CHARGER!! -
