SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT TO THE BOARD

ACTION ITEMS

A. PERSONNEL
1. Co-curriculum Appointments
The Superintendent recommends the persons shown on schedule A, highlighted in yellow, be appointed
to the listed co-curriculum/athletic coaching positions at the stipends shown for the 2019-2020 and
2020-2021 school year and are paid for time served in the positions. Approval is recommended.
2. Resolution for Emergency Hiring Nothing to Report
We are now required to submit each month to the County Education Office a list of persons we have
hired that have not yet received final approval of their criminal history check. The Superintendent
recommends approval of the resolution shown on SCHEDULE B that lists those persons and the positions
to which they have been appointed.
3. Appointment: Per Diem Substitute Nothing to Report
The persons listed on SCHEDULE C are recommended for employment as per diem substitute staff
for the 2019-2020 school year, pending completion of all pre-employment requirements. Certificates
held and compensation rates are also shown. Approval is recommended.
4. Approval: Professional Development/School Business Requests
The Superintendent recommends approval of the Professional Development/School Business
requests shown on SCHEDULE D. Details of these requests and costs to the district are shown
on the schedule.
5. Approval: ESY Coordinator
The Superintendent recommends approval of the employee listed on the attached schedule as the
2020 Special Services ESY Coordinator. Details are shown on SCHEDULE H.
6. Appointment: Support Staff
The Superintendent recommends the appointment of the new hires for the school year
2019-2020. Details of the assignment and salary are shown on SCHEDULE I.
7. Approval Resignation
K. Meglino, a Cafeteria Worker at Triton High School, has submitted a letter of resignation, to be
effective on February 3, 2020. The Superintendent recommends acceptance of the resignation.
T. Furber, a Special Education Aide at Timber Creek High School, has submitted a letter of
resignation, to be effective March 20, 2020. The Superintendent recommends acceptance of
the resignation.
8. Approval: Leave of Absence
The Superintendent requests Board of Education approve the leave of absence for the
following employees:
#0318, revised leave of absence through the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
Requests continuation of insurance, while continuing contributions.
#1886, leave of absence beginning March 5, 2020 for 6-8 weeks. Using sick
days then unpaid.
#1023, intermittent leave of absence effective immediately, unpaid.
#3108, intermittent leave of absence effective immediately, unpaid.
#1931, leave of absence beginning February 10, 2020 through February 21, 2020,
using sick time.
#1127, leave of absence beginning June 1, 2020 through the end of the 2019-2020 school
using sick time. Unpaid leave of absence beginning September 8, 2020 through
November 13, 2020.
9. Approval: Retirements
Ms. J. York, a FACS teacher at Timber Creek High School has submitted a letter to the
Board of Education indicating she will retire June 30, 2020. Ms. York has been an employee
of the district for fourteen and ½ years. The Superintendent recommends acceptance of this
resignation, for the purpose of retirement, with regret.
Ms. C. Currie, a Special Education teacher at Timber Creek High School has submitted a letter
to the Board of Education indicating she will retire June 30, 2020. Ms. Currie has been an
employee of the district for thirty one years. The Superintendent recommends acceptance of
this resignation, for the purpose of retirement, with regret.
10. Approval: Rescind Leave of Absence
The Superintendent requests Board of Education approve to rescind the unpaid leave of absence
for employee #1595.
11. Approval: Indoor Color Guard
The Superintendent recommends Board of Education approve the Indoor Color Guard positions.
Details are shown on SCHEDULE L.
12. Approval: Change in Assignment
The Superintendent recommends Board of Education approval of the change in assignment
for the individual listed on the schedule for the 2019-2020 school year.
Details are shown on SCHEDULE N.
13. Revised: Restorative Justice Committee
The Superintendent requests Board of Education approve the revised appointment of the
employees on the attached schedule the Restorative Justice Committee for the
2019-2020 school year. Details are shown on SCHEDULE P.
14. Approval: Jazz Band
The Superintendent recommends Board of Education approve the employee for the Custom Jazz Band
Arrangement. Details are shown on SCHEDULE Q.
15. Approval: Employment Contract 2020-2021
The Superintendent recommends the Board of Education approval of the 2020-2021 contract for
the Business Administrator. Details are shown on SCHEDULE S.
16. Approval: Employment Contract 2020-2021
The Superintendent recommends the Board of Education approval of the 2020-2021 contract for
the Assistant Superintendent. Details are shown on SCHEDULE T.
B. ATHLETICS
1. Approval: Spring Sport Schedules
The Superintendent recommends Board of Education approve the Spring Sport Schedules from
Highland, Triton and Timber Creek High Schools. Details are listed on the attached schedule.

H. MISCELLANEOUS
1. Special Education - Out of District Placements 2019-2020
For the school year 2019-2020, the Child Study Team has placed the classified students listed
on SCHEDULE E in special education institutions believed to be the best staffed and equipped
to deal with the specific learning disabilities identified for these students. Acknowledgement of
the Board of Education for these placements is requested.
2. Harassment Intimidation & Bullying (HIB) Investigations
Be it resolved that the Black Horse Pike Regional School District Board of Education acknowledges
that the HIB investigations were presented within the Executive Session portion of the February 20, 2020
Board of Education Meeting by the Superintendent of Schools and the District Anti-Bullying Coordinator.
Details are shown on SCHEDULE F.
Be it resolved that the Black Horse Pike Regional School District Board of Education approves
the results of the HIB Investigations that were presented and acknowledged within Executive
Session portion of the January 23, 2020 Board of Education Meeting by the Superintendent
of Schools and the District Anti-Bullying Coordinator. Details are shown on the attached schedule.
3. Approval: Overnight Field Trip
The Superintendent recommends Board of Education approve the following overnight field trip:

4. Approval: Donations to the Schools’ Care Closets
The Superintendent recommends Board of Education approval for New Jersey Garden City Alumnae
Chapter of Delta Signa Theta Sorority to donate feminine products, clothes and other supplies to
the schools’ care closets.
5. Approval: Therapy Dog Programs
The Superintendent recommends Board of Education approval to partner with Tri-State K-9 Crisis
Response Team and P.A.W.S.. Black Horse Pike Regional would like to host both Therapy Dog
organizations for use with our students and staff.
6. Approval: Foreign Exchange Student
The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for a foreign exchange student from
Germany, to attend Triton Regional High for the 2020-2021 school year. Details are shown
on SCHEDULE K.
7. Twilight Program Recommendations

The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for the Highland Class of 2022 Junior
Prom to be held at The Mansion on Main Street, New Jersey on May 7, 2021, 6-10 pm.
11. Revised: Highland Class of 2022 Senior Prom
The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for the Highland Class of 2022
Senior Prom to be held at Lucien’s Manor, Berlin, New Jersey on June 3, 2022, 6-10 pm.
12. Approval: Guest Speaker-Therapy Dogs
The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for Tri-State Canine Response
Team to give a presentation on Therapy Dogs at Highland, Timber Creek and Triton High Schools.

13. Approval: 2020 Senior Class Trip Chaperones-Triton
The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for the following faculty/staff to
attend the 2020 senior trip to Disney World from March 17, 2020 through March 21, 2020.
