ACTION ITEMS

  A.   PERSONNEL

1.   Co-curriculum Appointments

The Superintendent recommends the persons shown on schedule A, highlighted in yellow, be appointed to the listed co-curriculum/athletic coaching positions at the stipends shown for the 2019-2020 school year and are paid for time served in the positions.  Approval is recommended.



2.   Resolution for Emergency Hiring           Nothing to Report     

We are now required to submit each month to the County Education Office a list of persons we have
hired that have not yet received final approval of their criminal history check.  The Superintendent recommends approval of the resolution shown on SCHEDULE B that lists those persons and the positions to which they have been appointed.


3.   Appointment: Per Diem Substitute

The persons listed on SCHEDULE C are recommended for employment as per diem substitute staff
for the 2019-2020 school year, pending completion of all pre-employment requirements.  Certificates
held and compensation rates are also shown.  Approval is recommended.



4.  Approval: Professional Development/School Business Requests

The Superintendent recommends approval of the Professional Development/School Business
requests shown on SCHEDULE D.  Details of these requests and costs to the district are shown 
on the schedule.


5.   Approval: Employment Contract 2020-2021

The Superintendent recommends the Board of Education approval of the 2020-2021 contracts for 
the Central Office Administrators. Details are shown on the schedule.

6.  Approval Retirement

Ms. L. Draper, a School Counselor at Timber Creek High School has submitted a letter to the Board of
Education indicating she will retire July 1, 2020.  Ms. Draper has been an employee of the district for
sixteen years. The Superintendent recommends acceptance of this resignation, for the purpose of
retirement, with regret.

Mrs. K. Pesch, a Special Education teacher at Highland High School has submitted a letter to the Board of
Education indicating she will retire July 1, 2020.  Mrs. Pesch has been an employee of the district for
twenty nine years. The Superintendent recommends acceptance of this resignation, for the purpose of
retirement, with regret.



7.  Appointment: Support Staff 

The Superintendent recommends the appointment of the new hires for the school year
2019-2020. Details of the assignment and salary are shown on SCHEDULE N.

 


8.   Approval: Leave of Absence

The Superintendent requests Board of Education approve the leave of absence for the
following employees:

#7790, leave of absence beginning February 24, 2020 through March 6, 2020, using
sick time.

#1514, leave of absence beginning May 26, 2020 through June 17, 2020
using sick time and September 1, 2020 through January 13, 2021, unpaid leave.

#1653, leave of absence beginning February 24, 2020 through the end of the
2019-2020 school year, using 3.5 sick days then unpaid.

#7389, leave of absence beginning February 17, 2020 through March 6, 2020
using sick time.

#1733, intermittent leave of absence using sick days, effective immediately.



9.  Appointment: Custom Percussion Program and Color Guard – Highland

The Superintendent recommends the appointment for the Custom Percussion Program and
Color Guard Program at Highland Regional High School.  Details are shown on SCHEDULE O.
 



10.  Approval: Student Teacher

The Superintendent recommends permission be granted for the following Rowan University
student to complete his Clinical Practice for the 2020 -2021 school year.

11.  Approval Resignation

D. Maslowski, a Special Education Aide at Timber Creek High School, has submitted a
letter of resignation, to be effective on March 15, 2020. The Superintendent recommends
acceptance of the resignation.

R. Hinson, a Special Education teacher at Timber Creek High School, has submitted a
letter of resignation, to be effective on May 8, 2020. The Superintendent recommends
acceptance of the resignation.



12.  Approval: Job Descriptions

The Superintendent recommends Board of Education approval for the following Job Descriptions,
effective July 1, 2020, Instructional Technology Coordinator, Director of Special Projects, 
Supervisors, Secretary to the Assistant School Business Administrator and Supervisor of
Registration, and Enrollment, and Summer Programs.  Details are shown on the attached 
SCHEDULE P.   

13.  Approval: Voluntary Transfer

The Superintendent recommends Board of Education approve the voluntary transfer for N. Anderson
from Secretary to the Director of Facilities to the Secretary of the Assistant School Business Administrator
and Supervisor of Registration. Salary will stay the same and the position is effective March 13, 2020.


14.  Appointment: Assistant Athletic Director

The Superintendent recommends the appointment of the employee on the attached schedule
as the Spring-Nighttime Assistant Athletic Director for Timber Creek High School for the school
year 2019-2020. Details of the assignment and salary are shown on SCHEDULE R.



15.  Appointment: Summer 2020 ESY Special Education              

The Superintendent recommends the employees on the attached schedule be appointed 
for the Summer ESY Program for the 2019-2020 school year.  Details are shown on SCHEDULE T.  


16.  Approval: Employee Separation

The Superintendent recommends the Board of Education recognize employee #1412’s separation
of employment from the Black Horse Pike Regional School District as of March 30, 2020.






B.   ATHLETICS   

1.  Approval: Spring Track Schedules

The Superintendent recommends Board of Education approve the 2019-2020 Spring Sport Schedule
for Highland, Triton and Timber Creek High Schools.  Details are listed on the attached schedule.

H.     MISCELLANEOUS


1. Special Education - Out of District Placements 2019-2020     

For the school year 2019-2020, the Child Study Team has placed the classified students listed
on SCHEDULE E in special education institutions believed to be the best staffed and equipped
to deal with the specific learning disabilities identified for these students.  Acknowledgement of
the Board of Education for these placements is requested.
 


2.  Harassment Intimidation & Bullying (HIB) Investigations

Be it resolved that the Black Horse Pike Regional School District Board of Education acknowledges
that the HIB investigations were presented within the Executive Session portion of the March 12, 2020  
Board of Education Meeting by the Superintendent of Schools and the District Anti-Bullying Coordinator.  
Details are shown on SCHEDULE F.
 

Be it resolved that the Black Horse Pike Regional School District Board of Education approves 
the results of the HIB Investigations that were presented and acknowledged within Executive
Session portion of the February 20, 2020 Board of Education Meeting by the Superintendent 
of Schools and the District Anti-Bullying Coordinator.  Details are shown on the attached schedule.
 

3.   Approval: Timber Creek Class of 2020 Senior Trip

The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for the Timber Creek Class of 2020 Senior
Trip to Orlando, Florida, June 1, 2020 through June 5, 2020.


4.   Approval: Timber Creek Class of 2020 Senior Trip Chaperons

The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for the employees list below as
chaperones for the Class of 2020 Senior Trip to Orlando, Florida, June 1, 2020 through June 5, 2020.
         Robert Milavsky, Robert DiMaulo, Jr., Frank Torcasio, Brian Ernst, Mark DiSipio,
         Melissa Hernandez, Kaitlin Wong, Monica Coslove, RN, Julie Grone, Lyndsey Smith,

5.   Approval: Timber Creek Class of 2021 Senior Trip

The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for the Timber Creek Class of 2021 Senior
Trip to Orlando, Florida, June 7, 2021 through June 11, 2021.


6.   Approval: Timber Creek Class of 2020 Senior Prom

The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for the Class of 2020 Senior Prom
to be held at the NJ State Aquarium, Camden, NJ, May 15, 2020, from 7 pm to 11 pm.


7.   Approval: Timber Creek Class of 2020 Senior Prom Promenade

The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for the Class of 2020 Senior
Prom Promenade to be held at the Timber Creek Auditorium, May 15, 2020 from 5 pm – 6 pm.


8.   Approval: Timber Creek Class of 2021 Senior Prom Promenade

The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for the Class of 2021 Senior
Prom Promenade to be held at the Timber Creek Auditorium, May 21, 2021 from 4 pm – 6 pm.


9.   Approval: Timber Creek Class of 2021 Senior Prom

The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for the Class of 2021 Senior
Prom to be held at Lucien’s Manor, May 21, 2021 from 7 pm – 11 pm.


10.   Approval: Timber Creek Class of 2021 Junior Prom

The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for the Class of 2021 Junior
Prom to be held at the Palace, Blackwood, April 24, 2020 from 7 pm – 11 pm.


11.  Approval: Overnight Field Trips

The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for the following

13.  Long-term Student Suspension

#2010825, is suspended from Black Horse Pike Regional School District.  Student will receive
home instruction.

14.  Approval: Field Trips

The Superintendent recommends Board of Education approval for the field trips.  Details are shown

15.  Approval: Triton Class of 2020 Senior Trip Alternate Chaperons

The Superintendent requests Board of Education approval for the employees list below as
alternate chaperones for the Class of 2020 Senior Trip to Orlando, Florida, March 17, 2020
through March 21, 2020.
