What are the Haircut/Style and grooming standards?

Posted by:

The AFJROTC program does have certain grooming standards when wearing the uniform. Boys must shave unless they have a medical and/or religious waiver on file. Boys must have a tapered hairstyle with the height of their hair not exceeding 2.5 inches from their scalp. Mohawks, mullets, cornrows or dreadlocks are not authorized.

Girls may wear one or two ponytails if their hair is no longer than an imaginary horizontal line on their back running from arm pit to arm pit. If a female cadet's hair hangs below the imaginary line the hair must be put up in a bun. Girls may wear earrings but it must be a stud earring and can't be a hoop or a stud larger than.
