Peer Mentors of Highland
Peer Mentors of Highland is a program that encourages and allows senior and junior students to mentor freshmen in navigating the toughest transition yet in their academic lives!
This program involves over 100 students who are peer mentors and peer mentees. This program allows juniors and seniors to develop and foster 1:1 mentoring relationships with incoming first-year students through their entire first year of high school!
This is accomplished through professional training, including Anti-Defamation sensitivity training, leadership workshops, and practice in building rapport and lifelong friendships and mentorships that allow first-year students to feel secure in their character and grow into young leaders in the Highland community.
We encourage you to complete the attached application if you think your incoming freshman may benefit from this program and return it to bsimmons@bhprsd.org.
