Girls may wear one or two ponytails if their hair is no longer than an imaginary horizontal line on their back running from arm pit to arm pit. If a female cadet's hair hangs below the imaginary line the hair must be put up in a bun. Girls may wear earrings but it must be a stud earring and can't be a hoop or a stud larger than.

-
Can a cadet be removed for just not wearing the uniform?
Posted by:Yes. Uniform wear is a mandatory part of the program and this is documented in our cadet guide. In addition, willingly failing to wear the uniform is a faiure to follow a directive/disobeying a command. However, if there is a mitigating cirumcumstance such as a legitimate accident or an injury that l prevents wear of an item such as shoes, we will not hold that against the cadet. However a cadet that can't legitimately wear the uniform will be inspected on dress and appearnace standards to include inspection of haircut, nails and clothing without tears and the removal of piercings, .

What if my child removes the uniform after his AFJROTC class?
Posted by:On uniform day, the uniform must be worn for the entire day. If a uniform is removed for other than gym or an art class and not put back on, the cadet will loose 10 ponts for each period out of uniform. I.E., if a cadet has AFJROTC during second bell and receives a 100 for a grade then subsequently removes the uniform and never puts it back on, their grade will be reduced by deducting 10 points for each of the remaining classes (including Tartan Time) of the day.
-
What if my child does not have AFJROTC class on the designated uniform day?
Posted by:Even if your child does not have class they must wear the uniform. It is their responsibility to come down at the start of school, during Tartan Time or at the end of the day (before 2:30 pm) to get inspected. If they do not, they will receive a zero for a grade.
-
Is there a military commitment for joining AFJROTC?
Posted by:There is NO MILITARY COMMITMENT. We are not a recruiting organization. We are a life skills course meant to prepare your child for whatever life they choose after high school.

What Happens if my child is removed from the program?
Posted by:AFJROTC has the authority to remove a cadet for misbehavior, failure to conform to expectations and any other serious misconduct. Removal will usually occur after a cadet has received verbal counseling and administrative action in the form of letters of counseling or reprimand that are sent home to be signed. However, these administrative actions can be skipped if an action is serious enough, such as the instigation of a fight in uniform or an action that can be harmful to others and that brings discredit to the unit. If a removal request is sent to guidance and approved by the Principal, guidance will work on placing the student in another class. If the removed student was a transfer from TC or Triton, that student will be transferred back to that school.
