Welcome to the Student Athletic Training Aide Program!
Advisor: Ms. Pantaleo
Meets: Monday-Friday after school
Triton is looking for students with an interest in entering a sports medicine based career field or other allied health professions. As a member of the program you will be given the opportunity to learn about the skills that you will need in these careers firsthand in the athletic training facility and on the athletic fields of Triton. My goal is to help prepare you to enter into the rigors of a college education and explore your options in health care.
Topics you could learn about:
-
Basic Anatomy and Physiology
-
Pathology of Injury
-
First Aid
-
Basic Taping and Wrapping
-
Stretching
-
Rehabilitative and Strengthening Exercise
-
Cold, Heat, and Other Modalities
This is a volunteer program that requires commitment to the athletic teams of TRHS. You may only volunteer to cover a season that you are not participating in a sport. There are a limited number of positions and students are chosen by application process at the end of each school year for the following year (e.g. you can apply as a sophomore to participate your junior year).
If you would like more information on the SATA program, contact Ms. Pantaleo by email or stop down to the athletic training office in the afternoon to answer any questions.
