Dear Parent /Guardian,
The Black Horse Pike Regional School District is committed to making a difference in your child’s education. As a result, qualifying students of Triton and Highland Regional high schools will be given the opportunity for extra help during their Common Lunch Time or during study hall in Mathematics. Students are eligible for this program if they received a “D” or “F” in Math, if they did not score proficient in the NJ Ask 7 or 8, or NJSLA.
Mathematics Lunch Tutoring
Lunch tutoring will occur during periods 3 of the morning wheel, common period, and periods 5 & 6 of the afternoon wheel every school day. The tutoring program will run from September to June and take place in room B-15 during common time and the LMC during periods 3, 5 and 6. Students taking advantage of the tutoring program by attending 6 sessions in one month will receive a free book from Barnes and Noble up to $20. If your child needs help with homework, studying for a test, or developing their Mathematics skills, this is a great opportunity to improve learning.Other services this year include:
An after school Literacy Café will be held on Tuesdays where students can work on homework, research papers, study for a test and hold an after school book club where students will read selected titles and participate in a group discussion. Snacks and beverages will be provided during the meetings.
Students attending a minimum of 6 meetings during a cycle will be rewarded with a Barnes and Noble book of their choice up to $20.00.
School counselors have been assigned to specifically assist in assuring that students and parents are aware and taking advantage of all the Title I services. Counselors are available by appointment on Wednesdays from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM to discuss any assistance you may need.Be sure that your child takes advantage of this opportunity.
