Concert Choir & Vocal Music

  • Concert Choir is a class for students who enjoy singing & learning about music within a group setting. Students practice singing all types of choral music in three & four part harmony, & learn how to read and write music. There are optional solo opportunities in Concert choir, but none that are required in front of the class. Concert Choir meets every day during the school day & performs as a group in a mandatory concert each Winter & Spring, along with a graduation performance.

Vocal music is a class for students who enjoy singing alone, with a partner, & in a group. Students work on conquering the fear of stage fright & constructive criticism, and learn a variety of performance & singing techniques, as well as how to read and write music. This class spends the first half of the year focusing on the solo voice, with many required in-class performances, and the second half of the year focusing on group singing and how to sing harmony. This year, students in Vocal Music will perform in the Winter and Spring Concerts alongside the Concert Choir and will be a part of a coffee house style performance, depending on the year. Vocal music meets every day during the school day.
