I am honored to introduce myself as the Principal of Timber Creek Regional High School!

I have 4 kids (ages 6, 7, 11 and 13).  Our 7 year old daughter wants to be a princess.  We hope that dream evolves.  Our oldest daughter is 13.  She wants to be a teacher.  And, she is motivated to become a teacher because she likes helping students.  As a 13 year old myself, I too wanted to become a teacher; and today I have the privilege of being a part of the greatest profession in the world.  I love helping students!  I have been an educator for 20 years and my background includes experiences in Higher Education, Middle School and High School.  I am acutely conscious of how our students enter the building and acknowledge the necessary skills they must possess when they exit the building.

"Excellence in education is when we do everything we can to make sure they become everything they can."  Carole Tomlinson said that and her words keenly echo my drive.   I prioritize visibility, partnership and care.  I choose to create a purposeful environment by focusing on excellence through equity, and zealously continuing to inspire hope and possibility through example and education.  I hope  to be impactful by creating a school climate that inspires students to learn, readies educators to be dynamic through curriculum and instruction, and gets the community involved in supporting student achievement.

I have been a resident of Gloucesster Township for over 10 years.  I chose to live in this community.  I chose to work at THIS school.  And, I am invested in growing the potential of every student and staff member at Timber Creek Regional High School.  This job for me is personal.  I support the quality of our educational experiences and I believe in the capacity of those experiences to grow and shape students ready to be amazing adults.

We opened the doors at 'The Creek' in 2001 committed to inspiring excellence and strengthening student achievement.  As we usher in the 2023-2024 school year, we are committed to do the same.  As we anticipate this 22nd year together, let's not wait.  It's important to celebrate the legacy that makes us great.  We have super excellent students.  We have super excellent staff.  We have a super excellent community.  I thank you in advance for your partnership, your voice and for entrusting us with your greatest gifts- your children.  You are welcome to reach out to me at any time to share your considerations and concerns.  Teamwork truly does make the dream work!

Take care.  Take it easy.  And, always Charge On!

    Best regards, Kelly A. McKenzie.
